Lorena Almario Rojas

Born in 2000 in Palmira (Colombia)

Using performance, film and sound, Lorena Almario Rojas explores processes of forgetting, de-indigenisation and cultural mixing in Latin America. She believes in poetry and opacity as a shared language for those translating from an expropriated tongue. She obtained her Master’s degree from the École nationale supérieure des arts de Paris-Cergy in 2025. Since then, her films and performances have been shown at venues including the Centre Pompidou (Festival EXTRA!, Paris, France), Fidocs (Santiago, Chile), FICCALI (Cali, Colombia), MIDBO (Bogotá, Colombia) and the Centre d’art Ygrec (Cergy, France). Since 2025, she has co-directed FRONTERIZA, a cultural venue, community space and artist and non-artist residency in Cali, Colombia. She is part of the Zara Hadid cohort at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains.
