Film
In the beginning, language
language with the beginning
it is at the beginning with
through it all things came
without it, nothing has been of what was.
In it, slaver
slaver, the fluid of life
and slaver shines through the night
the night has not grasped it.
Cindy Coutant
Cindy Coutant is an artist and PhD student (Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains/Université de Lille). Her work mainly explores the desire of the living to connect with beings and things, the co-evolution between species or techno-species, and human beings’ need to find meaning in information about the world. Her installations, films and augmented readings are close to the science fiction genre and are developed through writing. They explore various issues, such as love in the time of technological espionage, affective economies, the grammar of anxiety and alternative accounts of the creation of the world.
