Chemins battus - Installation - 2016

presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 18

Installation

“Beaten Paths” is an interactive audiovisual installation which proposes a reflexion on the concept of the border as a place of waiting, passage, prohibition, control and violence; an established and defined line that a human being has to cross. A smartphone app based on a geo-localization system will be used as an interface. Spectators will be able to circulate and move in a virtual place, using the app as a transmap device; to enter a raw reality, that of the refugee camp in Calais called “The Jungle.” They will witness a portrait of the everyday life of a group of people waiting and trying to cross their last border.
