The works of Gregory Buchert are composed mainly of photographs, videos and performances and are inspired by numerous literary references (Gide, Cervantès, Calvino).
A mix of humour and critical reflection, they play on notions of failure and indecision, and propose, in their controlled gestures, thoughts on the being in the world of the artist, but also, by extension, on each of us. The recurrent presentation of his own image constitutes an essential part of his practice.
The physical implication is for him a manifesto, a willingness to be immerged in the very heart of the critical experience that he has of the world, as well as a way of using the common denominator “us” rather than the “you”.
