Tripwire - Installation - 2011

presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 13

Installation

Panorama and Agora, events at Le Fresnoy and Ircam, will open simultaneously reflecting an artistic convergence between two schools. Hence the installation Tripwire was born from an encounter between the American composer Ashley Fure, finishing her course at Ircam and Jean-Michel Albert, a student video artist at Le Fresnoy.

The eighteen cords, each activated by a motor, turn into a projection screen. To this mechanical system that represents the sound wave corresponds an electric sound space inspired by the noise of the cords in the air and their harmonic potential. The spectators will come and perturb the preprogrammed form of this installation.
