Mes routes - Film - 2014
presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 16
Film
Mes routes, a set of short films about twenty minutes long, shows a stream of places filmed when travelling the world. Provence, Cuba, Peru, Egypt, Vietnam, Korea – each view (a still shot, or taken from a moving car) opens up a new landscape to which corresponds a poem, a “thought” (pensée) read in voice-over by Bernard Faucon, sometimes accompanied by the music from the car radio in the background. These montages of singular moments, alternatively melancholy, abrupt or wonderstruck, compose a kind of instantaneous journey into a fragmentary world, always distant and seemingly controlled by invocation.
