Film
This film originated in a collage. A photograph showing only the legs of a woman walking in the street. The steps of these legs frozen by this photograph evoke a strange suspension. A movement held back that carries in this suspension and this segmenting of the body a set of potential narratives and amusements while playing with the question of what is outside the frame. This partial yet paradoxically full and real vision thus invites the beholder to stop and observe, simply and without embarrassment, these legs. Quite overtly. An object of desire, when “cut up” this isolated body represents an elsewhere. With this film I unfold a short narrative about this figure, an encounter in a little theatre of interpretation. This question then simply occurred to me: how can such a figure be made to appear and disappear in the cinema?
