An examination of private property in a society built like a bunker, where peace and quiet carry the echoes of exclusion and dispossession. In the calm of a German suburb, a child plays between fences under the watchful eye of his keeper.
François Pisapia (b. Montréal, 1990) is an artist living in Berlin. He creates frameworks for collaboration through lens-based media, performance and publications, as well as through curated events and exhibitions.
Pisapia completed design studies at Concordia University (Montréal) and graduated from the Städelschule Art Academy (Frankfurt). His work has been shown at the Kunstverein Siegen, the Haus am Waldsee (Berlin), the Centre for Contemporary Arts (Glasgow), the Millenium Film Workshop (New York) and more. Since 2019 he co-curates Fool Moon Screenings with José Segebre, a series of events centred around moving image, good food and the moon; Since 2022 he works with the queer archiving collective ASCHE, currently finalizing a book about the cult-classic film Flaming Ears (1992) co-directed by Ursula Pürrer, who also appears in his present film.
