Je n'AI jamais rencontré quelqu'un comme toi. - Film - 20min - 2024
presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 26
Hava (Eve) and Jeanne, actresses, sit on the set's floor and repeatedly shoot the same scene: 'Je n’ai jamais rencontré quelqu’un comme toi' for a mysterious AI algorithm. When Hava first glances at the AI’s monitor, she discovers a deep desire for Jeanne. Their relationship, observed both on and off the shooting scene, navigates through different gazes — those of seen and unseen cameras and viewers — delving into the uniqueness of intimate moments and the authenticity of emotions during the act of artistic creation, challenging their agency over self-perception. The AI’s visions introduce another narrative layer through ancient mythologies about metamorphoses; are they reacting to the 'real' events, or there to spark the next ones? Who are the protagonists — whose story is it? Is it Hava's, Jeanne's, the 'AI's', the directress'?
Like her biblical namesake, tempted Hava flirts with the idea of leading Jeanne to see themselves through the AI’s eyes; but what happens when one’s fantasy encounters the reality of the other?
