The Ascension is a short fiction film in which the pain of grieving is imaged by a snowy mountain. A determined young woman follows the drawings of an absent other in order to find them. The paths are difficult, dangerous, but she perseveres towards her goal to deposit the ashes of this missing person.
Through the Alpine landscape, we enter the heroine's inner landscapes. At the summit, where heaven and earth meet, she accompanies death and opens herself to the invisible. Through this quest, she discovers a new relationship with acceptance and grieving.
The film questions the place of grief in our daily lives, between present life and memories of the past.
