kitchen.blend - Film - 15min - 2020

presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 22

Film

3D reconstruction of my grandparents' kitchen where we had dinner together every Sunday and talked about death. "kitchen.blend" is a desktop film about grief, created almost entirely inside an interface of a Blender computer graphics software. The intention of this film was to convey the feeling of loss with the obsessive thoroughness in modeling all of the details of a place that is no longer possible to return to.

Nataliya Ilchuk

After graduating from the film schools in Kyiv and Warsaw, she worked for short film festivals in Ukraine as a programmer and self-produced numerous experimental films before coming to France to study at Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains.
