Haein Cho is a multidisciplinary artist based in France and originally from South Korea. A graduate of ENSA Dijon and HEAR, she is currently pursuing her research at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. Her practice revolves around a hybrid aesthetic rooted in subculture, where computer-generated imagery, stop-motion, video games and set design intersect freely. Straddling the boundary between personal experience and collective structures, she explores poverty, shame and powerlessness in contemporary society. By subverting the conventions of sitcoms and satire, she deconstructs everyday hierarchies and constructs deliberately artificial worlds to offer an incisive critique of power relations.
