Andrea Cera studied piano, composition, and computer-based music in Italy (Padova Music School, Siena Jazz Courses); he now works as a composer, alternating large-scale institutional productions and low-budget projects.

He has collaborated with the IRCAM, with choreographers Hervé Robbe and Edmond Russo, with the Nouvelle Cuisine Big Band in Vienna, with film-makers Christian and Gilles Boustani, Jacques Barsac, Aldo Lee, with Niktus, the Compagnia Teatrale La Piccionaia, and several art spaces in Italy. In 2002-2003, Innig, his installation for 24 speakers in a corridor was included in the Roland Barthes show at the Centre Georges Pompidou.

In 2004, he was invited by the Monaco Printemps des Arts to present an outdoor piece for big band entitled MIDIfreaks Corridor Catapulte.

He is currently working on a new piece by Hervé Robbe based on computer recording of voice and dance movement, developed in collaboration with the IRCAM Real Time Applications team. He lives in Malo, a small town near Vicenza, and teaches at the Padova Music School.
